Set in the beautiful and serene Tyne Valley, only seven miles from
the centre of Newcastle and nestled on the banks of the River Tyne and near the ancient remains of Hadrian’s Wall; the 250-year-old Close House estate has been lovingly formed into two of the best courses in the country.
Close House has gained a place in the UK’s top 100 golf courses and is recognised as the home of championship golf in the North East. They have two 18 hole courses – the Championship Lee Westwood Colt Course and the Lee Westwood Filly Course which are truly something to admire; along with the 9-hole par 3 Yearling Course. The club provides one of the most varied golfing challenges, appealing to players of all skill levels and golfing abilities.
